Notes from the BSG
chronology
This episode opens 7 days after the events of
"Litmus", 24 days after the
annihilation of the Twelve Colonies.
Didja Know?
The title of this episode is based on the concept that every
person on the planet can be socially connected to any other
person by just "six degrees of
separation", originally conceived by Hungarian writer Frigyes
Karinthy (1887-1938).
Apollo is presented as a captain again in this episode, as well
as being the CAG of Galactica, including authority over
Pegasus air wings.
Laura Roslin is seen in her memories to have been having an
affair with President Adar before the fall of the Twelve
Colonies.
The Pegasus is not seen throughout this episode.

Didja Notice?
This episode opens with a zoom in on the fleet from a distance
and ends with the opposite in a zoom out.
Shelly Godfrey claims to be an associate of Dr.
Amarak. A Dr. Amorak (slightly different spelling, but
presumably the same person) introduced Baltar to Number Six in
"A Higher Purpose". He was
also allegedly aboard the Olympic Carrier before it was
destroyed in "33".
Colonial data CD's are seen to have an octagonal shape, just as
many of their books, papers, and monitor screens have.
At 11:48 on the Blu-ray, Dr. Cottle has his cigarette in his
hand. In the next split second, it is suddenly dangling from his
mouth in the next shot.
At 17:54 on the Blu-ray, the monitor screen Gaeta is using is
seen to be an NEC
MultiSync LCD model.
In the bathroom stall scene, Gaeta whistles a tune that some
fans say is the "Top Gun Anthem" from the 1986 film Top Gun.
At 28:52 on the Blu-ray, the computer being used for Gaeta's
image enhancement of Baltar has an external drive with a visible
DVD trademark logo on it and also an internal 3.5-inch floppy
drive!
As Baltar is being hauled away to the brig at 30:13 on the
Blu-ray, a member of the television production crew can be seen
in the background holding a boom mic!
At 41:29 on the Blu-ray, Adama picks up a pair of
Shelly Godfrey's eyeglasses off the CIC console and the
Venus
Eye Design brand can be seen on them.
Unanswered Questions
After her collapse, Dr. Cottle tells Roslin he can give her a
shot to make her stronger for a press appearance, but she won't
like the side-effects. She insists on the shot anyway. What are
the side-effects? We are not shown any.
Who wrote "Cylon" on Boomer's mirror? In
The Plan, Boomer says that she thinks she
herself did it.
How did
Shelly Godfrey disappear from the Galactica? It's not
revealed until The Plan, which has Cavil telling her to
kill herself by going out of one of the ship's airlocks.
