Beginning the origin of model number six.
Dr. Harper
Ms. Garner
Didja Notice?
The alternate cover by Chris Bolson depicts a Six in a pile of
Cylon parts, including the heads of several different Centurion
models. Three are models not seen before. The one next to Six's
left shoulder appears to be the standard BSG2000 model. The one
above and to the left of that looks to be the same model as the
unusual (possibly semi-organic) Centurion seen in
Blood and Chrome.

The story opens on the planet Troy at the Vasirn mining outpost.
Troy was the planet that Boomer believed herself to be from in
her human sleeper mode, with her parents having been killed when
the dome over a mining colony on the planet collapsed causing a
massive explosion.
On page 5, the doctor says that Ms. Garner is afflicted with
O.D.D. This is oppositional defiant disorder. However, this is a
psychiatric term normally only used for children who suffer from
"a pattern of angry/irritable mood, argumentative/defiant
behavior, or vindictiveness" (at least here on Earth). They also
do not hurt people or animals, whereas Ms. Garner is described
as having got into a fight with an orderly, resulting in her
breaking her leg.
Also on page 5, the doctor says Karl suffers depression stemming
from Diogenes syndrome and that he is a hoarder. This is a real
world psychiatric disorder causing in afflicted individuals social
withdrawal, apathy,
self-neglect,
compulsive hoarding, and
shamelessness.
The doctor goes on to list other psychiatric disorders suffered
by the patients in her hospital, including PTSD.
PTSD stands for post traumatic stress disorder.
On page 6, we see there is a Six in the psychiatric
hospital whom Harper says is amnesiac. She doesn't know
her name so the staff calls her Eve. On page 7, she is
putting together a jigsaw that appears to be of a
painting of Adam and Eve! Was there an equivalent of
Adam and Eve among the Twelve Tribes of Kobol? (In
BSG70, there was an ancient Adam and Eve who were
members of the Thirteenth Tribe, awakened after
millennia of suspended animation in
"War of Eden"
Part 3.) |
