The fleet discovers a planet-sized object in the heart of the quantum storm.

Story Summary

As the fleet continues through the quantum storm, it comes upon a mysterious planet-sized object. Commander Adama insists it is Earth or an artifact related to it. Apollo and many of the command staff are concerned for the commander's mental well-being. It comes to a head when it is discovered that a Cylon force has followed them into the storm, yet Adama still wants to stay to continue studying the object. Apollo pulls his trump card by bringing psych-analyst Dr. Madusa to the command center to remove Adama from command pending evaluation unless he agrees to order the fleet away now. Adama negotiates a compromise to perform a full scan of the object for 30 centons, collecting as much data as possible, then fleeing the Cylons while analyzing the data and returning once they've shaken the enemy forces.

Didja Notice?

On page 1, the Galactica name plate on the exterior of the hangar bay is colored red with black lettering. It was always just metallic gray with black lettering in episodes of the TV series.

On page 1, Starbuck says that Xam is the best Viper repairman in the hangar bay.

Apparently Commander Adama shaved his beard between issues because it's gone as of this issue!

On page 5, Adama uses a previously unheard Colonial colloquialism, "Spirit of Caprica preserve us."

On page 12, Dr. Madusa recommends not even getting close to the planet-sized object found in the storm field without weeks of analysis. Shouldn't that be "sectons" of analysis?

In this issue, the Viper pilot called Hightail is suddenly a woman! Hightail was a man in "Red Shift" and "Dreams of the Thirteenth" Part 1.

On page 19, Athena says the Cylon force is about 7 hours away. That should be 7 centars in Colonial parlance.
